Thai Recall
Android now · iOS & Windows planned
Recall the Thai phrase. Say it. Stay in the conversation.
Thai Recall is not a full translator. It is a conversation companion for people who already live between Thai and English — look up the missing phrase, hear it in one earbud, speak it, and keep talking.
What is this?
An Android app that helps you speak the language you already live in.
When one word disappears mid-chat — at a café, in a taxi, near a temple — Thai Recall helps you find that phrase, hear native audio, repeat it, and continue. Built for expats, mixed couples, and long-term visitors — not for translating every sentence as a beginner tourist.
Search → Listen → Repeat → Continue. Offline access to phrases you’ve saved. Optional live lookup when something isn’t in your library yet. Spaced repetition to lock phrases in.
The problem
You understand more than you can say in time.
Most learners eventually understand far more Thai than they can actively recall. One missing phrase arrives at exactly the wrong moment — and the moment moves on.
Thai Recall helps you continue speaking. Look up what you need, hear it once, repeat it, and stay with the person in front of you.
Used language
This is not learned language. This is used language.
One earbud keeps you in the room. High-fidelity Thai plays while your other ear stays open to the café, the market, the person speaking.
Built for expats, Thai–English couples, retirees, and long-term visitors who already have vocabulary — and need speed when life is loud.
Both directions
The Thai partner is not only the helper.
In a mixed couple, recall fails both ways. You lose the Thai phrase at the market. They lose the English phrase with the bank, the school, or your family. Thai Recall stores one language item mapped both ways — Thai and English — so either person can look up, hear, speak, and stay in the conversation.
The Thai speaker can type the wording they actually use. You can save the sound form that helps you produce it. Over time that library is not “your Thai homework.” It is the household’s used language: what you say to each other, to children, to in-laws, at the clinic, at immigration.
Collaboration here is editorial, not a second syllabus: one person writes the authentic Thai; both of you rehearse the direction you need.

Try it out
Type English to get Thai + RTGS (hear Thai). Type Thai to get English (hear English). Same item, both directions — so both people in a mixed household can recall what they need to say.

Same as in the app: save the spelling that helps you speak under pressure.
Creator
Graham Osborn
“I built the tool I wished I had when face-to-face Thai moved faster than my grammar.”
Graham’s path into Thai didn’t start in a software lab — it started on the ground, living inside the culture. Like many long-term residents, he hit the wall: strong vocabulary, slow real-time production.
Drawing on postgraduate work in Educational Technology and ELT at The University of Manchester (MEd), he designed Thai Recall around situational phrases, learner autonomy, and the phonological loop — including the single-earbud technique that keeps one ear in the live conversation.
